The Grandfather Paradox is a thought experiment that explores the possibility of time travel. It goes something like this: Suppose you invent a time machine and travel back in time to a point before your parents were born. While in the past, you accidentally encounter your grandfather and, for some reason, decide to kill him. If you succeed in killing your grandfather before he has children, then your own existence would be impossible. If you don't exist, you wouldn't be able to travel back in time and kill your grandfather. This creates a paradox because the event of killing your grandfather both happens and doesn't happen at the same time.
